To accommodate the Narrow Crown Vic front suspension, a Lincoln Mark VIII Steering Rack was chosen for this application. The decision to use this particular steering rack was based on the mounting locations and the required pivot points of the inner tie rods. The Sequence below shows the mods and assembly to utilize this steering rack and associated components.
Steps include removal of the original Mustang inner tie rods... cutting 1.75" off the replacement inner tie rods and reassembly. The original Crown Vic outer tie rods are re-used. Here is a summary of the parts used:
